Нынешний Jeep Grand Cherokee серии WK2 задержался на конвейере: в этом году ему исполняется 11 лет! И это не конец карьеры: производство будет продолжаться еще примерно год. Потому что представленный сегодня Jeep Grand Cherokee L новой серии WL не прямая замена нынешнего Гранда, а дополнение модельного ряда.

Приставка L к названию обозначает удлиненную модель с третьим рядом сидений. Такая версия появилась у Grand Cherokee впервые за всю историю. Дело в том, что на рынке США более 70% продаж кроссоверов и внедорожников такого класса приходится на трехрядные машины. В компании Jeep решили откусить свой кусок пирога и первым делом представили Grand Cherokee пятого поколения именно в «семейном» формате. Короткая двухрядная модификация в семействе WL тоже появится, но примерно через год.

Кстати, прошлый опыт Джипа в трехрядном формате был не слишком удачным. Внедорожник Jeep Commander дебютировал в 2005 году, но интерес покупателей быстро угас, и производство прекратили уже в 2010-м. Основными недостатками были дешевая отделка салона, неудобная система трансформации сидений и номинальный третий ряд. С новым Grand Cherokee L разработчики постарались избежать повторения прежних ошибок.

Как и ожидалось, в новом поколении Гранд попрощался с немецкими корнями, то есть с платформой Мерседеса ML серии W164. В основе новой модели лежит «тележка» Giorgio, на которой построены современные модели Alfa Romeo Giulia и Stelvio. Но не спешите клеймить Jeep позором. Смена платформы принесла в первую очередь расширенное применение алюминия и высокопрочных сталей, новую электронику и системы безопасности. А вот всю технику новый Grand Cherokee унаследовал от предшественника. Разумеется, с необходимыми доработками.

Главное — сохранен набор полноприводных трансмиссий. Базовая Quadra-Trac I включает муфту в приводе передних колес, Quadra-Trac II дополнена демультипликатором (коэффициент понижения — 2,72:1), ну а Quadra-Drive II вдобавок имеет блокировку заднего дифференциала. На рынке США по-прежнему предложены и самые простые заднеприводные версии. Опционная пневмоподвеска Quadra-Lift (с замкнутым воздушным контуром) в стандартном положении обеспечивает дорожный просвет 212 мм (против 207 мм у прежнего Grand Cherokee). На парковке его можно уменьшить до 170 мм, а на бездорожье увеличить до 277 мм!

Двигатели тоже прежние — классические американские атмосферники. На старте продаж Grand Cherokee L предложат в США с базовым мотором V6 3.6 (294 л.с., 348 Нм) или опционным двигателем V8 5.7 (362 л.с., 529 Нм). Оба — в паре с восьмиступенчатым «автоматом».

Новый Jeep Grand Cherokee L заметно крупнее прежней модели. Длина выросла с 4820 мм до 5204 мм, а колесная база — с 2916 мм до 3091 мм. Ширина (1963 мм) и высота (1816 мм) увеличены не столь существенно. А еще на 36 мм расширена колея. Колеса теперь могут быть диаметром до 21 дюйма, тогда как прежде было максимум 20 дюймов. Вся светотехника диодная, а капот и пятая дверь сделаны из алюминия.

Интересно, что угол въезда в самом высоком положении кузова стал больше: 30,1 градуса против 25,7 у прежней модели. Хотя геометрию не обманешь: угол рампы и угол съезда с увеличением колесной базы и заднего свеса все же сократились. Зато паспортная глубина преодолеваемого брода теперь 610 мм против 510 у старого Гранда.

Интерьер преобразился в духе времени. Теперь здесь полностью виртуальные приборы на экране диагональю 10,25 дюйма, есть проекционный дисплей, а вместо рычага управления коробкой передач установлена вращающаяся шайба. Медиасистема Uconnect 5 может иметь тачскрин диагональю 8,4 или 10,1 дюйма (в зависимости от комплектации), поддерживает беспроводные протоколы Apple CarPlay и Android Auto, а вдобавок предусмотрен Wi-Fi. При этом пульт климат-контроля остался полностью аналоговым — с настоящими кнопками, качающимися клавишами и парой крутилок.

Jeep Grand Cherokee L предложен с двумя вариантами компоновки салона — на семь или шесть посадочных мест. В первом случае на втором ряду установлен трехместный диван, а во втором — раздельные «капитанские» кресла. По салону раскиданы аж 12 разъемов USB двух стандартов (USB-A и USB-C). Объем багажника за третьим рядом — 484 литра по американскому стандарту SAE. Со сложенными сиденьями галерки отсек вмещает 1328 литров (против 1028 литров у прежнего Гранда), а если сложить и второй ряд, то объем багажника вырастет до 2396 литров.

На старте продаж будет пять комплектаций: Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit и новая топ-версия Summit Reserve, особенности которой обивка сидений дорогой кожей, вставки из настоящего деревянного шпона и вентиляция сидений второго ряда. При этом мультиконтурные передние кресла с вентиляцией и массажем есть уже в исполнении Overland. Также из оснащения предусмотрены камеры кругового обзора (фронтальная — с функцией ночного видения), аудиосистема McIntosh (19 динамиков) и система Active Driving Assistant, то есть адаптивный круиз-контроль с функцией удержания в полосе. Уже к концу года этот ассистент разрешит еще и отпускать руль во время движения по трассе.

Новый длинный Grand Cherokee L серии WL будут выпускать на бывшем моторном заводе Mack Avenue в Детройте, который был остановлен в 2012 году, а в 2018-м его начали переоборудовать под производство автомобилей. Прежнюю модель серии WK2 выпускают на предприятии Jefferson North Assembly (тоже в Детройте). Старт продаж новой «эльки» в Америке запланирован на второй квартал этого года, при этом Grand Cherokee двух поколений будут продавать параллельно как минимум до начала 2022 года. Позже в семействе WL появится не только пятиместная версия, но также привычные модификации SRT, Trackhawk и Trailhawk, а еще подзаряжаемый гибрид.
