1 поколение, 1951–1955

О производстве своего первого внедорожника инженеры Toyota задумались в конце сороковых годов прошлого века, а в 1950 началась разработка такого автомобиля. Спустя год появился на свет Toyota BJ – японский аналог американского Willys Jeep. Новинка была создана, прежде всего, для военных целей.

Внедорожник, движимый 3.4-литровым мотором мощностью 85 л.с., получился очень крепким благодаря элементам, позаимствованным у грузовиков, и блестяще показывал себя на бездорожье. Пару силовому агрегату составляла 3-ступенчатая МКПП. Понижающая передача на BJ, в отличие от «Виллиса», предусмотрена не была.

2 поколение, 1955–1960

При создании второй генерации внедорожника специалисты «Тойоты» делали упор на повышенный комфорт и более симпатичную, гражданскую внешность. Линии экстерьера стали более обтекаемыми, а салон, ставший просторнее, обзавелся кондиционером и отопителем.

Под капотом авто поначалу находился двигатель от BJ, а затем его сменил новый мотор Toyota F объемом 3.9 литра, выдававший на первых порах 105 «лошадей», а чуть позже 125.

С 1956 года автомобили 20 серии стали идти на экспорт. С этого момента внедорожник получил имя Land Cruiser, что означает «наземный крейсер». 20 серия имела несколько вариантов исполнения с разными кузовами и колесными базами.

3 поколение, 1960–1984

Следующее поколение Land Cruiser внешне осталось примерно таким же, как его предшественник – настолько удачным оказался дизайн.

В техническом же плане изменений было больше. Во-первых, наконец-то появилась понижающая передача, а во-вторых в моторную гамму к двигателю F с 20 серии добавились дизельные агрегаты объемами от 3.0 до 3.6 литров. Трансмиссия была представлена 3-скоростной «механикой», а с 1974 года – 4-скоростной.

«Крузер» полюбился покупателям во всех странах и быстро завоевал популярность, а одно время вообще был самым продаваемым автомобилем в США. 40-ой производился на протяжении 24 лет.

4 поколение, 1967–1979

В «Крейсере» 55-ой серии особое внимание было уделено комфорту. Внедорожник, как и прежде построенный на прочной раме, значительно вырос, а по удобству интерьера напоминал легковой автомобиль.

Среди доступных силовых агрегатов появился 4.2-литровый мотор 2F,мощность которого составляла 135 л.с. Этот Land Cruiser стал первым в линейке, которая называлась Comfort-oriented.

5 поколение, 1980–1989

Разработка преемника LC 55 стартовала еще в 1976 году под руководством Хироши Осавы, а публичный дебют состоялся спустя 4 года.

Внедорожник 60 серии имел впечатляющие по сравнению с предшественниками габариты – колесная база составляла 2730 мм, а в салоне уместился третий ряд сидений. Рессорная подвеска стала значительно мягче, чем раньше, а еще большую атмосферу комфорта создавали удобные сиденья с улучшенной боковой поддержкой и электрические стеклоподъемники. Палитру моторов составляли 4.2-литровый бензиновый «движок» и 4.0-литровый «дизель», и оба заключали в себе по 137 «лошадей». В начале продаж был доступен еще один менее мощный дизельный агрегат объемом 3.4 литра. Базовой трансмиссией считалась 5-ступенчатая «механика», а в 1984 году впервые стал доступен 4-диапазонный «автомат».

В 1987 году модель претерпела небольшой рестайлинг, который одарил Land Cruiser 60 новыми вариантами окраски, более широкими колесами и квадратными парными фарами взамен одиночных круглых.

6 поколение, 1984

Land Cruiser 70 является прямым наследником «сорокового» и последним по-настоящему внедорожным «Крузером». Для него главным приоритетом служит не комфорт и роскошь, а проходимость и надежность. Продавались двух и четырехдверные версии, вторая из которых носила имя Prado. К 1990 году «Прадо» стал самостоятельной моделью.

В модернизированном виде автомобиль выпускается до сих пор. Внедорожники и пикапы Toyota Land Cruiser 70 предлагаются на рынках Японии, Австралии и некоторых других стран. Машина оснащается атмосферным дизелем объемом 4,2 литра (131 л. с.) и бензиновым мотором объемом 4,0 литра (228 л. с.)

7 поколение, 1990–1997

Появившийся в 1990 году новый LC 80 нельзя было спутать ни с чем другим – дизайнеры придали ему абсолютно новый внешний вид с большим количеством округлых линий и прочими деталями, заставлявшими новинку выглядеть очень свежо.

На внедорожнике были электронноуправляемые блокировки всех дифференциалов – двух межколесных и межосевого. За приведение «крейсера» в движение отвечали на выбор бензиновые 4.0 и 4.5-литровые моторы, а так же «дизель» и «турбодизель» с одинаковыми объемами 4.2 литра. Мощность двигателей варьировалась от 130 до 215 «лошадок». Инженеры позаботились и о безопасности – уже в базе были предусмотрены 2 подушки безопасности и ABS.

8 поколение, 1998–2007

Публичный дебют Land Cruiser 100 состоялся в 1997 году, а уже в 1998-ом на него стояли очереди в автосалонах. Спустя почти 50 лет с появления первого внедорожника Toyota инженеры не отобрали у Land Cruiser ни капельки надежности. В его основе по-прежнему была рама, правда, уже совсем другая, с современными ударопоглощающими элементами, но не менее крепкая.

По сравнению с LC 80, была перенастроена независимая подвеска всех колес и тормоза, был снижен уровень шума и вибраций, а так же появились новые моторы. Теперь гамма силовых агрегатов была представлена бензиновыми рядной «шестеркой» 4.5 и V8 4.7, а так же дизельными моторами 4.2 в атмосферном варианте, с турбиной и с двумя турбинами мощностью 131, 204 и 250 л.с. соответственно. Агрегатировались двигатели 4-диапазонной АКПП или 5-скоростной МКПП.

Особняком в модельном ряду стоял Land Cruiser Cygnus, имевший самое богатое оснащение и измененный дизайн передка. В 2003 году был произведен рестайлинг, и «сотый» обзавелся новой оптикой и бамперами, а так же иной отделкой салона.

In terms of design, in addition to Land Cruiser’s horizontal tone and calm impression, I wanted to make a major change to feel playful and dynamic.
To allow for more free and bold design, we have adopted the way of replacing the whole bumper instead of covering the part of bumper by the spoiler like we did before.

There were so many blocking points for the bumper replacement type but our design team spent a lot of time to make a perfect balance between the styling & structure.
By doing so, the bumper parting line will be flat and invisible, smarter appearance will make the vehicle more luxury and high perfection.

I hope the drivers to see and feel the integrated design by the actual vehicle.

The world of Land Cruiser and dynamism to pursue

Prioritize the first impression of styling while following the world of Land Cruiser by pursuing calmness & dynamism through the product. In addition, the styling is well known & visualized that you can easily eye catch from a distance.

Various portions are stand out in order to express our styling theme.

For the FR bumper, the central opening is not only simple square, we’re aiming for a design which has an impact by achieving both solidity and lightness to the downward direction.

In addition, by matching headlamp design, we have inserted an L shaped fin to the side intake to be integrated with the vehicle itself.

For the black portion, we have insisted to express the styling of L/R fins in details to align with well build — in mesh shaped and the grille design to perfectly suit overall elements.

We have persistently stick on our study and also deeply insisted to the RR bumper design.

The balance between the body color and black portion is so sensitive, we have designed to give a lighter impression without compromising the profound stance of Land Cruiser.

For the black portion, we have designed the same mesh to align FR to harmonize the entire vehicle. In addition, the driving performance is visualized to easy understand the improvement by the diffuser shape.

The wheel design (styling) pretty much impacts the vehicle side view.
We have adopted one size larger 21 inch alloy to match up with our dynamic aero bumper.

Visually appeals even larger and keep the best balance by locating 6 spokes evenly from the wheel center and deep 3D modelling perfectly suit for Land Cruiser.

2 wheel colors are available and able to select from the user’s favorite.
The machined contrasted spec gives an aggressive, sense of greatness & gorgeous look.
On the other hand, the matte black wheel gives an even stronger impression to the entire appearance. Also the sport look with the outstanding spokes.

At the development stage, achieving both rigidity & styling was really difficult. With the strong support from our wheel specialist team, we thoroughly analyzed the CAD data, and finally after the test driving, we have achieved the perfect design focusing on the functionality and compatibility.

Our products are now able to release globally with the confidence.
